Little errands. Big neighbour energy.

FetchQuest: Little errands. Big neighbour energy.

On an island, someone is always already heading into town. The brief: let them bring your errand along.

where it started

The idea is older than the name. In 2021 it was WhatUneeD, and an agency quoted close to a million US dollars and nine months to build it. It sat on the shelf.

We built it ourselves, renamed it FetchQuest and pointed it at one place first: Salt Spring Island, where the ferry, the village and the back roads mean somebody is always making the trip anyway.

how and why

Neighbourly, never gig-economy. The look is cut-paper island scenes, a lowercase wordmark built on a loop that comes full circle, and Fraunces headlines that read like the village noticeboard.

Errands come three ways, so the app does too: already paid and just needs collecting, already ordered and paid at the counter, or chosen and bought for you. Money waits in escrow until the receipt is in, the helper's offer is agreed before anyone leaves, and Circles keep it among people you know.
